![]() ![]() Here you're just people, trying to survive and make it home, in a universe that has no reason to care whether you live or die. ![]() Usually you're the hero who finds them, laments their misfortune, and wishes you could have done something.īut that's not you, not here. Most games don't have you consistently be the people who didn't make it because there was no one around to help them and they just had a run of bad luck. ![]() The game has a lot of RNG, it will seem at times unfair, but that is life. You're a random crew of a junky ship with 50 people on it, a crew like any of the hundreds that you will encounter in your playthroughs and choose to save or not, randomly sucked into an unknown spacial anomaly and then told "There is no civilization to ask for help, you're on your own." From there you choose a direction from your random position in space, based on what your not top of the line sensors can pick up around your current position, and hope that whatever you come across is somewhat more useful than a nice ship where everyone already died because they were short 1 part of a crucial facility for survival and had already consumed all their resources.Įvery hull out there with no survivors is you, it's me, it's us. The game was funded via Kickstarter at the end of 2020, and the team is already delivering on their promise of releasing an Early Access version of the game in March of 2021. You're not a custom made captain, who chose what kind of ship you wanted to pilot, or skills and crew you wanted to bring with you. The resource-management-slash-space-colonization game Derelict Void is due out March 18, when an Early Access version lands on Steam. One of the things that I think people don't realize when playing this game right now is that you're not special. ![]()
